A shared love of natural spaces in the Upper Peninsula has connected me to some of the most awesome people I have ever met. I was first connected to UPLC through my roommate Lane who served as a student board member. The two of us bonded initially over a love of the outdoors. I've since brought several friends and family to visit UPLC preserves whether it's canoeing through the Chocolay Bayou with my friend Greta, or volunteering with my friend Mack (see photo). I have learned so much about the importance of land protection from those at UPLC, and I'm grateful for the quality time I've gotten to spend with loved ones at their preserves.
